Fixed focal length prime lenses optimized for Super 35mm cinema format photography.

Technical Characteristics

As a DoP, I particularly appreciate the constant T1.5 aperture across all focal lengths with the CN-E lenses – this greatly simplifies lighting planning. The warm image characteristic is a perfect fit for German productions, and the soft bokeh lends skin tones a beautiful, natural radiance. The Canon CN-E is a process in film production. Areas of Application

The CN-E series gives me as a director the creative flexibility I need without breaking the budget. The consistent look across all focal lengths ensures visually coherent sequences, and the high speed allows me to shoot even in available light situations, which benefits the authenticity of my scenes. From a production perspective, Canon CN-E lenses are a real asset – they offer 90% of the quality of high-end cine optics at a fraction of the cost. The robust lenses reduce downtime on set, and due to their popularity in the German market, availability from rental houses is usually guaranteed without problems.
