Lee's full-strength CTO gel that converts daylight to 3200K tungsten color temperature.

Definition

Lee 204 is the Lee Filters equivalent to the Rosco 3408 Full CTO filter. It is a full Color Temperature Orange filter in its strongest version.

Practical Application

The Lee 204 is used for:

  • Complete Conversion: From daylight (5600K) to artificial light temperature (3200K)
  • Extreme Mixed-Lighting Scenes: When HMI or LED sources need to be fully corrected
  • Creative Warm Toning: Deliberate creation of very warm, atmospheric scenes
  • Facade Lighting: Balancing cold architectural elements

Technical Details

  • Color Temperature Shift: approx. 800-1000K towards orange
  • Light Absorption: approx. 0.6-0.8 stops
  • Transmission: approx. 70-75%
  • Availability: In all standard sizes and roll formats
  • Compatibility: Universal with Lee filter systems and standard holders

Material and Durability

Lee 204 is available as a gel filter and is less heat-resistant than glass. It should not be placed directly in front of spotlights, as it can melt.

Comparison with Other Filters

  • vs. Rosco 3408: Practically identical
  • vs. Double CTO: Double CTO can appear more intense
  • vs. Full CTS: Lee 204 is orange, CTS is more straw-colored
