Corporate Video

Company image film — presents corporate values, products, or workforce to internal/external stakeholders. Standard B2B and HR tool.

The corporate video sits between pure advertising and documentary work—and that's precisely what makes it tricky. You're not shooting for cinematic emotions, but for an HR department looking to attract applicants, or for a board of directors needing to impress investors. This requires a different approach to dramaturgy, editing rhythm, and visual tone.

In practice, this means: Clarity over atmosphere. Your client wants the message to land—not for the viewer to be left guessing. This doesn't necessarily mean boring. Good corporate videos work with strong imagery, authentic employee portraits, and a clear narrative arc. The difference from image films often lies only in length and distribution context: Corporate videos are shown at trade fairs, in waiting areas, or on the website—so they need to work within 3 to 15 minutes without guaranteed full attention.

During shooting: Focus on authenticity. Cast actors immediately appear unbelievable—real employees in front of the camera are your material. This means longer shooting days because you'll need a lot of footage to cut out the few genuine moments. Lighting must be professional—not Hollywood, but also not smartphone quality. Many corporate videos suffer from faceless corporate aesthetics. Differentiate yourself: Use natural light where possible, work with real workplaces instead of studio sets. This creates credibility.

In editing, tempo control is crucial. You'll be tempted to cram in everything the client mentioned—resist it. A clean edit with breathing room looks more professional than rushed jump-cut chaos. The original sound from employees contributes massively—let people talk about their work, not marketing jargon. Sound design often makes the difference between amateurish and professional here: ambient sound from the actual spaces, no generic music beds. Technical quality—clean lighting, stable framing, good audio—is not a nice-to-have here, but your baseline. The film represents the company.
