A powerful tungsten light fixture consisting of 24x 650W PAR lamps arranged in a grid array.
Technical Specifications
The Wendy Light is a high-output light source from the PAR array family, related to the Dino Light and Maxi Brute. It consists of 24 individual PAR-64 lamps, each 650 watts, arranged in a 4x6 or 6x4 grid – resulting in a total output of 15,600 watts. The color temperature is 3,200 Kelvin (Tungsten/Artificial Light).
Each PAR lamp can be switched individually, allowing for flexible light distribution and dimming. The individual lamps can be fitted with different lens types: Very Narrow Spot (VNSP), Narrow Spot (NSP), Medium Flood (MFL), or Wide Flood (WFL) – depending on the desired beam angle.
Applications
The Wendy is used when large-area, powerful illumination is required: simulating daylight through windows, brightening exterior scenes during the day as fill light, or lighting large studio sets. For night shoots, it can serve as "moonlight," with the color temperature adjusted using CTB (Color Temperature Blue) gels.
Due to its high power consumption, the Wendy requires a suitably sized generator or studio power connection. Its weight of approximately 60-80kg necessitates heavy-duty stands or rigging. The heat generation is considerable, so safety distances to flammable materials must be maintained. LED alternatives like the ARRI SkyPanel S360 are increasingly replacing classic Tungsten arrays, but do not always offer the same punch effect at extreme light outputs.
